    Rick Martinez

The Denver City ISD Board of Trustees met Wednesday, October 25th, and I was selected as the next Superintendent of DCISD. It is an honor and privilege to serve with you.

I would like to introduce myself to you all. I began my educational career in Hobbs, NM at Highland Junior High in 2005 as a teacher/coach. I coached football, basketball, and track.  I taught 7th grade social studies for one year before moving to 8th grade American History for 5 years. During that time, I completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, in 2007, at the University of Texas of the Permian

In 2012, I had the great fortune of coming to DCISD to serve as the high school assistant principal for 3 years.  I received my superintendent certification in 2014. I became the DCHS principal in 2015 and in the summer of 2021 I moved over to the DCISD administration office.

I look forward to working alongside each and every one of you. I am always a phone call away and if you ever need to sit and visit my office, the door is always open. I thank you in advance for your patience and professionalism as we work through this administrative change.

    Wishing you the very best!
